We are seeking a seasoned Permanent Title Attorney to join our dynamic legal team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in energy, oil, gas, pre-litigation, and transactional energy law. They will be responsible for preparing and reviewing title opinions, conducting due diligence, and providing legal advice on a broad range of energy-related issues. This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced attorney to apply their knowledge and skills in a challenging and rewarding environment.
Responsibilities:
1. Review and analyze title documents, abstracts, surveys, and legal descriptions to establish the ownership of land and mineral rights.
2. Prepare and review title opinions and curative materials.
3. Conduct due diligence for acquisitions and divestitures, including reviewing transaction documents, identifying potential issues, and recommending solutions.
4. Provide legal advice and support on a broad range of energy-related issues, including regulatory compliance, contract negotiation, and dispute resolution.
5. Coordinate with landmen, geologists, and other professionals in the energy industry to ensure accurate and timely title work.
6. Stay updated on changes in energy law and industry trends, and advise clients accordingly.
7. Represent the company in legal proceedings, if necessary.
Qualifications:
1. Juris Doctorate from an accredited law school.
2. Admitted to practice law in the state.
3. A minimum of 5 years of experience as a Title Attorney, with a focus on energy, oil, and gas.
4. Solid experience in pre-litigation and transactional energy law.
5. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret complex legal documents and advise clients on potential risks and opportunities.
6. Excellent communication and negotiation skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with clients and industry professionals.
7. Detail-oriented, with the ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.
8. A proactive approach, with the ability to anticipate issues and develop effective solutions.
9. Proficient in legal research tools and software.
