Description: Our client is currently seeking a Test Technician


This job will have the following responsibilities:

    Contract Length: 6 months + potential to extend
    Location: Wyoming, MN 
    Work Arrangement: Full onsite *Local candidates only
    Hours: Standard day shift, M-F (7am-4pm with some flexibility)

    OVERVIEW:

    Join Our Structural Testing Department, which delivers comprehensive testing, data acquisition, and analysis services across all product lines. With teams located in both Wyoming and Roseau, MN, this position is based at the Wyoming Product Development Center and supports a collaborative team of technicians and engineers. As a Structural Test Technician, you will be responsible for executing component and vehicle-level tests, developing test procedures, and collecting and analyzing data to ensure product durability and performance.


    KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

    • Perform durability testing on components, sub-assemblies, and full vehicles using established procedures.
    • Set up test fixtures and assemblies per engineering drawings and torque specifications.
    • Operate lab equipment which includes hydraulic/pneumatic actuators, electrodynamic shakers, spin stands, ovens, and chillers.
    • Assist in the development and improvement of test procedures.
    • Maintain and calibrate test equipment to ensure accuracy and reliability.
    • Support fixture design and conduct light fabrication tasks.
    • Install and operate instrumentation for temperature, load, acceleration, displacement, and strain.
    • Operate vehicles for testing purposes.
    • Monitor and inspect cyclic testing processes.
    • Conduct basic data processing and analysis.
    • Document and submit technical test reports.
    • Organize and maintain lab equipment to ensure efficiency and OSHA compliance.
    • Manage testing schedules and communicate equipment downtime.
    • Collaborate professionally with vendors and maintain confidentiality.
    • Perform additional duties as assigned

    SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS:

    • Associate degree in a technical field preferred.
    • 3–5 years of relevant technical experience preferred.
    • Strong mechanical aptitude and hands-on skills.
    • Basic fabrication experience (milling, drilling, welding).
    • Experience with vehicle and system-level testing.
    • Familiarity with MTS 793 and MPE software is a plus.
    • Skilled in test planning and coordination.
    • Detail-oriented, self-motivated, and customer-focused.
    • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
    • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
    • Forklift operation experience preferred.

    WORKING CONDITIONS:

    • Lab-based environment with active test equipment; PPE required (eye protection, safety toe footwear, hearing protection in designated areas).
    • Willingness to work overtime and monitor tests outside regular hours.
    • Physical requirements include lifting up to 40 lbs, bending, twisting, kneeling, squatting, overhead reaching, strong grip/pinch, and push/pull up to 100 lbs.
    • Training provided for any missing skills.
