Test Technician - Network Hardware

Our client is looking to hire 5+ Entry Level Test Technicians who can validate Network and Wireless Hardware. This is an onsite contract to hire opening located in San Diego, CA.
Responsibilities:
- The Software Test Engineer works closely with key stake holders in the organization such as program managers, product managers, development engineers, and technical program managers to define and implement quality engineering solutions, practices, processes, and standards.
- Design, develop, maintain, and execute test cases and test plans at functional and system levels.
- Understand functional, system, integration and regression testing focus at functional and system level.
- Perform black and gray box testing of released products or products under development to reveal design and implementation defects.
- Use test tools such as debuggers, emulators, and simulators to test and collect logs for reported problems.
- Experience with Test management, defect reporting such as AP Test Manger, TestRail, Jira, and Confluence.
- Identify automation opportunities and develop & maintain automated tests.
- Analyze test results, troubleshoot, and triage issues with different teams to drive towards root cause identification and resolution.
- Collaborate with developers, product managers & QA engineers to understand features in-depth & write detailed test plans.
- Perform Test execution and provide test reports and metrics on regular basis and communicate test results to Project teams
- Must be self-motivated and self-managed with an eye towards continuous process improvement.
- Proven Track record of executing automated test suites and generating relevant reports
- Ability to translate SW requirements into test cases
- Engage in debugging and verification of customer reported issues
Experience/Requirements:
- 2+ years of experience in quality engineering and software/hardware testing.
- Experience in testing IoT devices/Data cards/M2M devices and/or hardware.
- Attention to detail and solid oral and written communications skills a must
- Must understand QA processes and methodologies in a software development environment.
- Experience testing end to end IoT systems or Cloud based solutions for IoT platforms
- Debugging data like logs, Wireshark traces and identifying potential problems
- Good Understanding of the software development lifecycle
- Positive attitude, quick and logical thinker
- Good analytical problem-solving skills
- Experience with a variety of router & switch hardware, network services, network management, and network termination
- Have hands-on experience designing and coding automated tests in scripting languages like Python.
Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computers/Electronics/Electrical Engineering or equivalent qualification is required

The expected base salary for this position ranges from $27 to $28 hourly. Salary offers are based on a wide range of factors including relevant skills, training, experience, education, market factors, and where applicable, licensure or certifications obtained. In addition to salary, a competitive benefit package is also offered.
