Our client, a Houston area law firm, has a great opportunity available for an experienced Food Services/Conference Room Coordinator to join their team on a contract/temporary basis for 3 months. This position focuses on supporting the daily food service operations of the office, including set-up and clean-up of catered client meals and ongoing maintenance of employee kitchen areas. This role ensures a clean, well-stocked, and welcoming environment for staff and guests, and supports internal events by managing food and beverage logistics.
Responsibilities
- Prepare and set up meeting rooms with beverages, food, and appropriate supplies in a timely and professional manner
- Receive and maintain a valid Texas Food Handler Certification by an accredited program; Adherence to sanitation regulations, using Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Point (HACCP) principles
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of all kitchens, conference rooms, and break areas throughout the day
- Monitor inventory for kitchens and conference rooms; communicate supply needs to appropriate staff for reordering
- Restock kitchen supplies, beverages, snacks, utensils, and related items regularly
- Restock conference rooms supplies, including Sternos, chaffing pans, plates, utensils, and other related items regularly
- Wash supplies by hand or load/unload a dishwasher, as appropriate
- Assist with set-up and tear-down of internal and external events assistance
- Receive food and beverage deliveries, checking delivery contents to verify product quality and quantity
- Provide excellent customer service to all guests to the Firm, as well as fellow employees
- Clean refrigerators, cabinets, coffee machines, and kitchen appliances/equipment as needed
Requirements
- Walking, sitting, standing for extended periods of time
- Able to hand-wash dishes as needed
- Strong critical thinking skills
- Strong oral and written communication skills
- Strong organizational skills and ability to multi-task
- Ability to work under limited supervision
- Ability to meet deadlines with a strict attention to detail
- Ability to lift 50+ pounds, lift stackable chairs, breakdown/set-up tables, reset conference room layouts, and push a cart throughout the day
- Positive and friendly attitude
- Ability to manage time and properly prioritize tasks
- Ability to take initiative and be proactive
- Ability to eat meals outside of regular meal times
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Food Service experience preferred
- Knowledge of the principles and practices of quantity food preparation and service a plus
- Knowledge of the operation and maintenance of food service equipment preferred
- Knowledge of food service accounting and inventory control procedures preferred
- Knowledge of food storage practices and procedures a plus
- Knowledge of food service sanitation and safety standards a plus
Must have and maintain a valid Texas driver’s license and valid vehicle insurance
- Must wear slip resistant, closed toed footwear
- Work schedules vary and may include early mornings and evenings
