Telemetry Technician

Job Title: Telemetry Technician

Pay: $40/hr to $45/hr

• Shift: 7AM - 3PM or 3PM - 11PM, 5 days per week

Job Summary:

• Provide advanced ECG monitoring while assessing patient status through ECG strip analysis and arrhythmia interpretation.
• Identify and respond to potentially life-threatening rhythm changes.
• Initiate codes and record rhythms during codes.
• Perform continuous EKG monitoring with accurate interpretation of cardiac rhythms and dysrhythmias.
• Troubleshoot monitoring problems and respond appropriately to all monitor alarms.

Job Responsibilities:

• Perform electrocardiograms in multiple settings including proper electrode placement.
• Communicate appropriately and clearly with charge nurses, co-workers, and physicians.
• Enter and verify orders in the computer system.
• Retrieve laboratory results from the computer system and bring results to the attention of the charge nurse.
• Ensure documentation meets current standards and organizational policies.
• Manage and operate monitoring and medical equipment safely and correctly.

Skills:

• Required Skills & Experience: Proficiency in MS Office Suite.

Required Education:

• High School Diploma or equivalent.

Required Certifications & Licensure:

• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification issued by the American Heart Association (AHA) or the Red Cross within the past year.
• Completion of a Dysrhythmia Course.
