General Statement of Job

The Technician I - Educational Technologies Audio Visual Events Production is responsible for setting up, installing, operating, testing, and troubleshooting audio and video equipment including microphones, audio speakers, video screens, projectors, video monitors, recording equipment, control systems, video streaming, video conferencing, lecture capture, audio mixers; responsible for operating live audio video and recording for events and functions such as concerts, meetings, presentations, and graduation.

Essential Functions:

Specific Duties and Responsibilities

  • Collaborates with Manager - ET Audio Visual Events Production to produce high-quality audio-visual services for all special events and video production throughout the institution.
  • Operate the production of A/V standard Special Events and communicates with clients to ensure the success of all events.
  • System structure, operate, and installs AV equipment such as microphones, sound speakers, video screens, projectors, video monitors, recording equipment, and digital/analog mixing boards for events and functions.
  • Analyze and apply room tuning techniques using sound spectrum analysis, including volume, tone, and clarity of a special event, and collaborates with other Audio technicians ensuring customers are satisfied with sound quality and setup of the A/V equipment.
  • Coaches, mentors, and trains faculty, staff, and students to use all audio-visual equipment, including DAW workstations, and provide an inclusive learning environment.
  • Operates A/V hybrid events simultaneously
  • Operates large-scale special institutional and instructional events and oversee all audio-visual needs.
  • Operates sound consoles (digital/analog) for large-scale live performance level applications and adjusts parameters and volumes to maintain control by using critical thinking skills when necessary.
  • Manages desktop software/hardware to ensure connectivity with audiovisual equipment.
  • Design and implement system structure and tear down for all college-wide special events.
  • Performs preventative maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairs on all types of instructional technologies equipment.
  • Operates technical aspects of gates, compressors, RTA, Multi-effects on digital, analog, and DAW platforms.
  • Manage the integrity of data duplicates compress and digitize audio and video data, ensuring proper formats and compatibilities.
  • Manage the safe storage addresses, documents, and closes out work orders, tasks analysis, and resolve equipment issues and provide development of working solutions.
  • Maintains current knowledge of trends and developments in audio-visual hardware and software.
  • Research to remain on trend in all areas of audio-visual and event production.
  • Responsible for technical aspects of the position with the ability to perform standard and advanced troubleshooting techniques.
  • Creates, maintains and archives all event project documentation including video storage and archiving.
  • Continually ensures all inventory is in good working order and perform regular quality control tests.
