Technical Specialist Senior – Mechanical

Pay Information
Hourly Range: $46.36 - $59.99/hr,  (based on education and experience). 
US CITIZENSHIP REQUIRED 
Work with the design team to design and document aerospace hardware that meets technical, cost and schedule requirements.

What You’ll Do:
  • Complete detail designs using 3D Mechanical CAD tools with direct Engineering interface and in team environments.
  • Generate engineering drawings per company standards and industry standards following appropriate application of ASME-Y14.100, ASME-Y14.3, etc. and the application of Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing (GD&T) per ASME-Y14.5.
  • Release and maintain design information such as drawings, product structures (drawing trees), Bills of Material (BOMs), and 3D fabrication files into Product Data Management (PDM) systems.
  • Prepare, submit, and release Engineering Orders (EO’s) and associated revisions.
  • Provide content for and/or participate in design reviews, customer reviews, and production planning.
  • Participate in hardware receiving, integration, test, and certification.
  • Maintain a regular and predictable work schedule.
  • Establish and maintain effective working relationships within the department, the Strategic Business Units, Strategic Support Units and the Company.  Interact appropriately with others in order to maintain a positive and productive work environment.
  • Perform other duties as necessary.

On-Site Work Environment: This position requires regular in-person engagement by working on-site five days each normally scheduled week in the primary work location. Travel and local commute between company campuses and other possible non-company locations may be required.

Working Conditions:
  • Work is performed in an office, laboratory, production floor, or cleanroom, outdoors or remote research environment.
  • May occasionally work in production work centers where use of protective equipment and gear is required.
  • May access other facilities in various weather conditions.

Required Education, Experience, & Skills:
  • High School diploma or equivalent and 6 or more years of related experience, or a two-year related technical degree and 2 or more years of related experience.
  • Each higher-level related degree, i.e., Bachelor’s or Master’s, may substitute for two years of related experience. Degree must be from a university, college, or school which is accredited by an agency recognized by the US Secretary of Education, US Department of Education.
  • Must be a self-starter and task completion oriented.
  • Ability to close the loop on agreements demonstrating a clear understanding of technical deliverables, schedules and budgets (i.e. completing assignments within agreed to parameters).
  • Ability to effectively communicate with team in person and virtually using email, instant messaging and other protocols.
  • Mechanical CAD proficiency for modeling/drafting (SolidWorks required).
  • 3D Printing and Design for Manufacturability experience preferred.
  • Demonstrated ability to multi-task and prioritize work from multiple sources.
  • Open to and seeks additional tasking from clients.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office Suite.  Proficient in Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. 
  • Experience with Configuration Management (CM) tools
