Technical Services Lab Technician

Basic Job Functions:

The role of the Technical Services Metallurgical Lab Technician includes, but is not limited to the following: 

• Participating in safety and housekeeping efforts
• Ensure a safe work environment for themselves and their coworkers
• Operate and maintain laboratory equipment, such as Tensile Test Frames, Hardness Test Equipment, Profilometer, Mounting/Polishing Equipment, Micrometers, etc.
• Accurately and legibly, complte required paperwork of test results.
• Accurately input data into NSAR business system
• Communication closely with Metallurgy Team. 
• This position will be rotation shifts on days. Safety is the most important part of all jobs within Nucor; therefore, candidates must be able to demonstrate the ability to initiate, lead, and uphold safety policies, practices, procedures, and housekeeping standards at all times.

Minimum Qualifications:

• High School Diploma or Equvalent

Preferred Qualifications:

• Understanding of the steelmaking process
• Minimum of 2 years' experience in quality control in an industrial setting.
• Experience with chemical analysis and physical testing of steel products.
