Job Title: SEC / Technical Accounting Manager
Location: Elgin, IL
Salary Range: $140,000 – $150,000 per year
Experience Level: Manager
About the Role:
We are seeking an experienced SEC / Technical Accounting Manager to lead and enhance our financial reporting and technical accounting processes. This role is ideal for a seasoned professional who can challenge existing reporting and processes and drive continuous improvement.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee SEC reporting, including preparation and review of 10-Q, 10-K, and other filings
- Research and implement technical accounting guidance for complex transactions
- Partner with leadership to evaluate and improve current reporting processes
- Ensure compliance with GAAP, SEC regulations, and internal controls
- Support external audits and liaise with auditors
- Provide guidance and mentorship to team members
Qualifications:
- CPA designation required
- 6+ years of progressive accounting experience
- Background in public accounting and corporate mix preferred; straight corporate with SEC experience acceptable
- Currently in a Manager-level role
- Strong technical accounting and SEC reporting expertise
- Ability to challenge and improve processes, not just maintain status quo
- Excellent communication and leadership skills
