Position Overview

We are seeking a high-performing Tax Associate or Tax Manager candidate with strong tax preparation expertise and the ability to review work accurately and efficiently. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced professional ready to grow into a leadership role — managing workflow, mentoring staff, and supporting complex tax engagements.

Key Responsibilities
  • Prepare high-quality individual, corporate, partnership, trust, and estate federal and state tax returns with minimal supervision.
  • Review tax returns prepared by junior staff to ensure accuracy, compliance, and completeness.
  • Identify and communicate tax issues, suggest solutions, and escalate complex matters to senior managers/partners.
  • Conduct tax research on federal and state tax issues; apply findings to return preparation and client guidance.
  • Stay current on tax code changes, deadlines, and industry developments.
  • Communicate clearly and professionally with clients regarding tax questions, documentation needs, and filing processes.
  • Build strong client relationships by delivering insightful, value-added tax advice.
  • Train, mentor, and provide constructive feedback to junior tax staff.
  • Assist in workflow planning, task delegation, and ensuring deadlines are met.
  • Operational Excellence
  • Utilize tax and accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, UltraTax/ProSystem fx or equivalent).
  • Maintain organized documentation for all engagements.

Qualifications
Required
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Taxation, or related field.
  • Minimum 3+ years progressive tax experience in a public accounting environment, with demonstrated ability to prepare complex returns.
  • Strong technical tax knowledge and analytical skills.
  • Excellent attention to detail and ability to work under deadlines.

Preferred
  • CPA license or actively pursuing CPA designation.
  • Experience reviewing others’ tax work.
  • Proficiency with tax research tools and major tax preparation systems.
