This role is part of Blue Origin corporate functions, providing centralized support across Blue Origin business unit teams, functions, and locations.

Join our fast-paced team and assist with accounting and tax reporting for Blue Origin programs and business units nationwide. You'll play a vital role in maintaining accurate tax accounting and reporting, contributing to our mission of making space travel more affordable.

Position sits in Kent, WA and relocation is provided.

Responsibilities

Prepare multiple State & local sales/use and property tax returns including all related analysis and support,Aggregate financial data for external parties in preparation of Federal and international income tax returns,
Prepare annual Federal informational returns and similar State and local licenses and registrations,
Support M&A efforts by organizing data requests and reviewing and summarizing Target information
Provide consultations on the Federal/State income tax implications of financial decisions/transactions,
Research and analyze various Federal, State & local, and International income tax issues,
Provide support and documentation for external and internal audits on Federal, State & local, & international tax filings,
Monitor intercompany transactions for accuracy of transfer pricing and tax effects,
Analyze complex state and industry rules and exemptions in order to provide support to vendors and customers on sales tax applicability,
Record accruals for income and property taxes in accordance with GAAP,
Prepare annual budgets for sales and use taxes and property taxes including advising internal customers on taxes within their project budgets,
Coordinate with external and internal customers regarding the applicability of sales/use tax to a variety of purchases of goods/services across multiple taxing jurisdictions,
Manage internal databases on vendors and capital assets to comply with associated tax filings,
Coordinate with external parties related to state and local initiatives and incentives
Support various high visibility strategic tax initiatives

Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in Accounting
3+ years of experience in taxation in Public Accounting and/or industry
Attention to detail and high level of accuracy
Strong written and oral communication skills
Strong technological skills, including report-writing capabilities and knowledge of MS Excel
Self-motivated and comfortable navigating change and uncertainty at a fast pace

Desired:

CPA license or actively pursuing one
Tax research proficiency (RIA Checkpoint or similar)

Compensation Range for:
WA applicants is $64,548.00 - $90,366.15

Required for certain Job Profiles: Ability to obtain and maintain Merchant Mariner Credential, which includes pre-employment and random drug testing as well as DOT physical
