GENERAL SUMMARY
The Tailor completes all necessary alterations to ensure consistent uniform standards item that meets and exceeds Pechanga Resort Casino (PRC) standard of excellence to enhance our guests’ experience and stay at our facility.
FOUR DIAMOND SERVICE AGREEMENT
All Team Members will display a Four Diamond commitment to Guest Service through the delivery and maintenance of the Quality Standards established by Pechanga Resort Casino.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
• Sorts all items according to standards and schedules set forth by department.
• Ability to work any shift, weekends and holidays.
• Ability to complete garment alterations in a professional manner.
• Knowledge of general maintenance of sewing machines.
• Ability to make quick and efficient decisions pertaining to alterations.
• Ability to perceive quality of work, read material, and review documents; receive instructions and inquiries from guests or staff.
• Communicate effectively both verbally and in writing in order to provide clear direction to guests and Team Members at all levels.
• Keeps immediate supervisor informed of all problems or unusual events and/or refers difficult situations to his/her attention for handling.
• Attend all Human Resources and department training sessions.
• Attend all pre-shifts.
• Organize and sort flat iron and all iron work to allow machinery to operate on a continuous basis.
• Maintain a clean and orderly work area
• Troubleshoot and bring any unusual changes in colors and/or machinery problems to the attention of the supervisor.
• Follow departmental policies and procedures with respect to soiled and clean linen.
• Participate in a positive deliverance of company and departmental policies and procedures.
• Monitor and maintain accurate records on all repairs.
• General maintenance of work area.
• Assist wardrobe attendants as required.
• Monitor inventory levels and report shortages to supervisor.
• Comply with all departmental service guarantees.
• Performs all tasks as assigned by management.
• Ability to remain alert throughout the duration of the shift and remain calm during emergency situations.
• Ability to maintain in conformance with PRC tailoring standards.
• Familiar with all safety and emergency procedures.
• Other duties as assigned.
ACCOUNTABILITY: This position has no supervisory responsibilities. The Team Member is responsible for protecting the assets of PRC.

QUALIFICATIONS AND GUIDELINES

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE/TRAINING: At least 5 years’ experience is required. A high school diploma or general education degree is required as well.
COMMUNICATION SKILLS: This position requires the ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. This position also requires the ability to write routine reports and correspondence. This position also requires the ability to speak effectively before groups of guests or Team Members of the organization. Ability to read, write, and comprehend in the English language.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS: This position requires the ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. This position also requires the ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
REASONING ABILITY: This position requires the ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. This position also requires the ability to handle problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS:
• Must qualify to obtain and maintain a Class “A” gaming license.
SKILLS/ABILITIES:
• Possess phone skills.
• Able to adapt to and accept changing information.
• Possess basic computer and keyboarding skills.
• Ability to work under stressful situations.
• Experience on all types of commercial and industrial sewing machines and equipment related to the trade.
• Ability to perform and pass required testing for proven skills as a tailor/seamstress.
• Ability to take guests measurements and if needed cut the material using a pre-made pattern or one she/he designs.
• Creativity and problem-solving to discover different way of making or mending garments when difficulties arise.
• Possesses knowledge of fabrics and their construction, correct gauge of threads, and sewing machine needle size for fabrics.
• Ability to adjust the construction of garments to accommodate the guests needs. Adjusting hemlines, cuffs, and sleeves to the guest’s needs.
• Ability to sit for long periods, bending over sewing machines, work by hand with a needle and thread, and utilize scissors to cut through different gauges of fabric.
• Must be a self-starter who is highly motivated and resourceful.
• Must be able to work with a positive attitude in a fast paced and culturally diverse casino environment.
• Must be able to take direction and follow through with assigned tasks.
• Must be flexible and willing to work nights, weekends, and holidays.
• Ability to remain calm during emergency situations.
