Job Description:
Director, Systems Engineering & Application Support
The Director of Systems Engineering & Application Support leads a team of Infrastructure Engineers and Application Support professionals responsible for designing, engineering, monitoring, and managing large scale, mission critical systems that support high volume financial transactions within a highly regulated environment.
Responsibilities
" Lead end to end infrastructure and application engineering, including system design, build, configuration, and lifecycle management across physical and virtual server environments.
" Oversee daily systems administration, systems management, and application support functions ensuring stability, security, availability, and adherence to industry standards.
" Develop and execute technology roadmaps aligned with project delivery, production sustainment, and team talent development.
" Architect and guide complex infrastructure solutions spanning enterprise data centers, high volume transaction platforms, and regulated environments.
" Direct engineering efforts related to availability, resiliency, patching, hardening, performance optimization, and automated deployment.
" Provide operational support for development, test, and production environments, including incident management, root cause analysis, certificate management, and middleware maintenance.
" Collaborate with enterprise technology, audit, compliance, and business leadership to ensure governance, security controls, and policy adherence.
" Drive innovation through research, evaluation, and introduction of next generation technologies and automation strategies.
" Maintain system security and data integrity, monitor system and security logs, and proactively address performance or availability issues.
" Partner with vendors to enhance operational scale, efficiency, and service quality.
" Lead and develop engineering staff, ensuring consistent design standards, operational excellence, and high quality customer communication.
Qualifications
" Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field.
" 5 years of relevant infrastructure or systems engineering experience.
" Strong background in UNIX/Linux, Solaris, shell scripting, hardware/OS troubleshooting, and enterprise server configuration (including WebLogic).
" Experience in system patching, hardening, automated deployments, and secure operations.
" Proven leadership in managing complex infrastructures, applications, and mission critical environments
