Systems Engineer

The Systems Engineer is responsible for designing, installing, configuring, analyzing, and maintaining RaceTrac's servers, systems, and infrastructure applications in a team environment. This individual works as a member of the Infrastructure Team to support projects requested by other departments within Information Technology or from other areas of the company. The Systems Engineer monitors the overall health of servers and systems and balances this workload with the timely completion of assigned technical infrastructure projects.
What You'll Do:
Configuring and maintaining Active Directory infrastructure including deploying and decommissioning domain controllers, managing organizational unit structure, determining group policy strategy, delegating security permissions, and facilitating synchronization to Microsoft Entra ID.
Deploying and configuring new applications within the Okta identity and access management platform to provide Single Sign On capabilities to corporate users, including considerations around multi-factor authentication, synchronization with Active Directory, and end-user experience.
Administering and troubleshooting Microsoft 365 services including:
Resolving email delivery and mailbox access issues through Exchange Online.
Creating teams, supporting user file management, and designing and implementing policies in Microsoft Teams.
Managing corporate devices using Microsoft Intune.
Monitoring and resolving storage problems and access issues in SharePoint Online.
Administering other Microsoft 365 applications as company needs dictate.
Maintaining day-to-day infrastructure health through patching servers and applications using Tanium, monitoring server availability and performance via SolarWinds, and resolving security vulnerabilities flagged by the IT Security team.
Automating processes and tasks through the use of PowerShell scripts, third party applications, or other automation tools.
Representing the Infrastructure Team in project meetings with other departments, including providing project updates to executives up to the Executive Director level.
Candidates for this position should have prior experience serving in a Systems Engineer role and some familiarity with other areas of Infrastructure such as hardware troubleshooting, VMware, Azure, DNS, Cisco network devices, etc.
This position participates in an on-call rotation with several other engineers.
What We're Looking For:
Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in Information Technology, Computer Science or related field or appropriate industry experience required.
5 years experience in the IT field including 2-4 Years serving in a Systems Engineer role or equivalent.
Relevant, industry recognized technical certifications are a plus.
Experience with cloud, and virtual infrastructures is preferred.
