Job Summary
The Systems Integration Engineer supports the testing, validation, and integration of connectivity and embedded systems for next-generation autonomous products. This role works closely with development, systems, and validation engineers to test new software releases across lab, vehicle, and field environments. The position combines hands-on technical troubleshooting with real-world testing and supplier collaboration, offering exposure to advanced autonomy and connectivity technologies.

Responsibilities
  • Execute system-level and connectivity testing for new product software releases in lab, vehicle, and on-machine environments.
  • Support real-world validation by driving passenger vehicles and documenting performance, issues, and test results.
  • Collaborate daily with software, systems, electronics, and validation engineers to identify, troubleshoot, and resolve system issues.
  • Perform hands-on debugging using Linux and networking tools to analyze logs, packet captures, and system behavior.
  • Develop, execute, and document test plans, test cases, and validation results.
  • Coordinate with third-party suppliers to communicate requirements, review performance, and provide technical feedback.
  • Support field testing activities, including travel to proving grounds and machine sites as needed.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement of test strategies, processes, and system reliability.

Years of Experience and Education
  • Experience: 5–7 years of relevant engineering experience (internship experience accepted if related to connectivity, networking, or embedded systems).
  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Network Engineering, or Systems Engineering.
  • Comparable Backgrounds: Network Engineer, Connectivity Engineer, Systems Integration Engineer, Embedded Test Engineer, Validation (V&V) Engineer, or Field Test Engineer.

Skills Required
  • Strong understanding of networking and connectivity systems, including LTE/5G, routing, and bonded cellular solutions.
  • Hands-on systems integration, troubleshooting, and root cause analysis experience.
  • Test strategy development and execution for embedded or edge systems.
  • IP networking fundamentals and practical experience analyzing network behavior.
  • Linux configuration and debugging experience.
  • Proficiency with diagnostic and network analysis tools such as Wireshark, iperf, and tcpdump.
  • Experience creating and executing test plans and documenting results.
  • Familiarity with requirements management tools such as Jama or DOORS.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
  • Ability to take ownership of tasks end-to-end and work effectively in both lab and field environments.
