EPS Corporation is seeking a highly skilled Senior Systems Administrator (Unix/Linux) to support enterprise-level networks and systems within a secure and mission-critical environment. The ideal candidate will bring deep expertise in Unix/Linux administration, network security, and performance optimization, ensuring system reliability, security, and efficiency.
Key Responsibilities
Administer, maintain, and support Unix/Linux operating systems, networks, and software applications.
Perform system installation, configuration, and integration of hardware, operating systems, and COTS software.
Manage system backups, recovery procedures, and disaster recovery operations to ensure data integrity and availability.
Conduct system performance monitoring, tuning, and optimization to maintain operational efficiency.
Implement and maintain security configurations, access controls, and vulnerability management in accordance with DoD and company standards.
Troubleshoot hardware, software, and network issues, identifying root causes and implementing corrective actions.
Manage system resources, user accounts, file systems, and library structures.
Support and enforce network security policies, including the use of firewalls and intrusion detection/prevention systems.
Stay current on emerging cyber threats, attack methods, and detection tools to ensure proactive defense.
Required Qualifications
ACTIVE TOP SECRET
(3) years of professional experience in Unix and/or Linux system administration of networks and software systems.
Hands-on experience in:
System backup and recovery
Software and security management
Hardware installation and configuration
Performance tuning and troubleshooting
Network administration using protocols such as TCP/IP
Experience with major network security tools such as firewalls, IDS/IPS, and vulnerability assessment tools.
Knowledge of computing and networking vulnerabilities, attack vectors, and mitigation/detection methods.
Must meet DoD 8570 IAT Level III certification requirements (e.g., CISSP, CASP, or equivalent).
Must possess an active T5 investigation (Top Secret eligibility or higher).
Strong analytical, problem-solving, and documentation skills.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience with automation and configuration management tools (e.g., Ansible, Puppet, Chef).
Familiarity with cloud or virtualized environments (e.g., VMware, AWS, Azure).
Knowledge of STIG compliance, RMF, or other DoD cybersecurity frameworks.
