We are seeking a contract Systems Engineer to support the development of next-generation diagnostic solutions at a client site. This is a hands-on, onsite role focused on end-to-end system integration, combining instrument hardware and software within complex, multi-disciplinary environments.
This opportunity is ideal for a systems-focused engineer with experience in diagnostic or regulated product development, strong software and system testing expertise, and the ability to collaborate and influence across cross-functional teamswithout formal people management responsibilities.
What Youll Do
As a Systems Engineer, you will play a critical role throughout the system lifecycle, from integration and testing to post-launch support:
- Perform hands-on system-level integration testing and troubleshooting across hardware and software components
- Plan, design, and execute verification and validation (V&V) test cases to ensure full requirements coverage
- Analyze test results for accuracy, relevance, and alignment with user needs
- Support post-launch investigations, including failure mode analysis and root cause determination
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams on:
- Requirements management
- Defect tracking and resolution
- System integration strategies
- Develop and maintain system documentation, including:
- System and software requirements
- Specifications
- Integration and test plans
- Verification and validation results
- Identify and lead opportunities for process improvement, workflow simplification, and test automation
Were looking for a Systems Engineer with a strong technical foundation and hands-on industry experience.
- Bachelors degree in:
- Systems Engineering
- Biomedical Engineering
- Electrical Engineering
- Computer Science (or related field)
- 3+ years of relevant industry experience
- Strong instrument and software troubleshooting skills
- Ability to work independently in a fast-paced, regulated environment
- Experience with software test automation (preferred)
- Scripting or programming experience (e.g., Python or equivalent)
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to influence cross-functional stakeholders
