As a System Administrator II at Gray Link Technologies LLC, you will play a crucial role in administering and maintaining VMware virtualized environments that underpin vital Air Force enterprise operations. Your daily responsibilities will include monitoring the health and performance of VMware ESXi hosts and virtual machines, alongside performing essential system patching and upgrades. You will ensure security hardening and enforce DISA STIG requirements while troubleshooting system and performance issues across both classified and unclassified networks. Your analytical skills will be vital as you assess capacity and performance trends, recommending improvements for optimal system efficiency.
Additionally, you will validate configurations to meet operational and compliance standards, document system changes and maintenance activities, and coordinate accountable equipment movements. Collaborating closely with network, cybersecurity, and government teams, you will ensure that our virtualization services remain reliable, secure, and compliant across all platforms.

Knowledge and skills required for the position are:
Administration and support of VMware virtualized environments, including ESXi, vCenter, and NSX
Understanding of virtualization architecture, hypervisor operations, and virtual machine lifecycle management
Experience performing system hardening, security patching, and configuration management in accordance with DISA STIGs
Ability to monitor system performance, analyze capacity trends, and recommend optimization improvements
Experience troubleshooting physical hosts and virtual machines in classified and unclassified environments
Familiarity with DoD enterprise IT environments and compliance-driven operations
Knowledge of DoD 8140 / IAT Level II requirements and cybersecurity best practices
Experience supporting audits, inspections, and compliance reporting activities
Strong technical documentation skills, including change management and maintenance records
Ability to coordinate hardware accountability actions and follow established operational procedures
Effective communication skills for working with engineering teams and government stakeholders
