Survey Crew Chief Responsibilities
- Lead and operate a field survey crew on boundary, topographic, construction staking, and ALTA/NSPS surveys
- Ensure accuracy, thoroughness, and compliance with project specifications and regulatory requirements
- Organize daily field activities, assign tasks, and maintain productivity in alignment with project schedules
- Operate and maintain survey equipment including total stations, GPS/GNSS systems, and data collectors
- Download, review, and verify field data before submission to the office
- Maintain accurate field notes, documentation, and daily reports
- Promote and enforce safe work practices in accordance with company and OSHA standards
- Communicate effectively with project managers, clients, contractors, and internal team members
- Travel locally to job sites, with occasional overnight travel as needed
Survey Crew Chief Requirements
- 3-5+ years of progressive experience in survey field operations, including leadership of a survey crew
- Strong proficiency with total stations, GPS/GNSS equipment, and data collectors
- Ability to read and interpret construction plans, plats, and legal descriptions
- Valid driver"s license
