  • On-Call Requirement: Must reside within 30 minutes of the hospital
  • Hourly Pay Range:$25.00 – $35.00/hour (based on experience)
  • Shift Differentials:+$3.00/hour (Nights), +$3.00/hour (Weekends)
  • On-Call Pay:$3.00/hour
  • Sign-On Bonus:Up to $15,000

Overview

We are seeking an experienced Operating Room Surgical Technologist (OR Tech II) to support a high-volume acute care surgical environment in Kansas City, Missouri.

This Tier 2 role is designed for skilled, confident OR Technologists who can independently scrub a wide range of procedures across multiple specialties but are not yet in a formal leadership or advanced specialty role. The OR Tech II is a critical member of the surgical team, ensuring safe, efficient, and high-quality operative care.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and maintain the operating room with appropriate instruments, supplies, and advanced surgical equipment

• Assist with patient transport, positioning, prepping, and draping while maintaining comfort, privacy, and safety

• Serve as first scrub during surgical procedures, anticipating surgeon needs and maintaining sterile technique

• Pass instruments, handle specimens, and support the surgical team throughout procedures

• Monitor surgical equipment and patient status during operations and respond promptly to intraoperative needs

• Perform efficient room turnover and support case flow optimization

• Maintain compliance with infection prevention, safety, and quality standards

Qualifications

Required

• 1+ year of recent Operating Room Surgical Technologist experience

• Graduate of an accredited Surgical Technology program

• BLS (Basic Life Support) certification (AHA or Red Cross)

• Ability to perform independently in a fast-paced surgical environment

OR Tech II (Tier 2) Requirements

In addition to OR Tech I competencies, must demonstrate proficiency as first scrub in three of the following four specialties:

• Robotic Surgery

• Total Joint Surgery

• Neuro/Spine Surgery

• Vascular Surgery

Preferred

• Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) – NBSTSA

• Experience across multiple surgical specialties
