Surgical Technologist

Employment Type: Per Diem / PRN

Shifts Available: 8-Hour Shift 

Hours: Monday through Friday 6:30 am to 3:00 pm

Location: Saint John Hospital—Leavenworth, KS

Essential Duties and Responsibilities (includes, but are not limited to): 

• Set up surgical instruments, supplies, and equipment for procedures.
• Maintain a sterile environment and sterilize all instruments before surgery.
• Pass instruments and supplies to the surgeon and assist with various tasks.
• Count and manage sponges, needles, and instruments before and after procedures.
• Help position and drape patients appropriately for surgery.
• Communicate effectively with surgeons, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to ensure smooth operations.

Before we go any further, we do have some deal-breakers. You must have:

• A high school diploma or equivalent is required.
• Current BLS (American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted) upon hire and maintained.

Additional Qualifications That Are a Plus: 

• Experience in scrubbing minor and major procedures in various surgical specialties
• Graduation from an ORT training program within 6 months of hire or on-the-job training with a minimum of 2 years experience in a surgical setting
