Job Details
Key Responsibilities
- Material Flow Optimization: Design, implement, and continuously improve lean processes across raw materials, WIP, and finished goods.
- Raw Material Strategy: Define and execute RM strategy to minimize inventory while ensuring high responsiveness to customer orders.
- Warehouse Excellence: Eliminate floor stored pallets by transitioning inventory to rack storage, minimizing levels while maximizing efficiency.
- Automation & Systems: Drive adoption and optimization of WMS, EGVs, and other automated warehouse systems to improve accuracy, safety, and throughput.
- Intralogistics’ Challenge: Critically assess and challenge existing intralogistics processes to remove inefficiencies, reduce waste, and strengthen plant responsiveness.
- Cross Functional Collaboration: Partner closely with Vesuvius Procurement and Supply Chain Teams to align strategies, optimize inventory, and strengthen working capital performance.
- Customer Responsiveness: Ensure rapid and reliable execution of customer orders through streamlined planning and logistics.
- Team Leadership: Directly supervise Schedulers, Material Planner, and Shipping & Receiving team, fostering accountability, high performance, and continuous improvement.
- Lean Leadership: Facilitate workshops and instill a culture of operational discipline, driving measurable improvements in supply chain performance.
Qualifications
- Proven track record in supply chain management within manufacturing environments.
- Strong expertise in lean principles and demonstrated success in applying them to material flow and inventory optimization.
- Hands-on experience with WMS, rack storage systems, and automated warehouse technologies (EGVs or equivalent).
- Proficiency in Excel, JDE, and SAP for planning, reporting, and process integration.
- Experience challenging and redesigning intralogistics processes to achieve step change improvements.
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and develop diverse teams.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- Soft skills: adaptability, collaboration, influencing across functions, and a continuous improvement mindset.
- Ability to balance strategic vision with hands-on execution.
- Lean Six Sigma, APICS CPIM/CSCP kind of certifications are preferred.
