Our Client, a Automotive company, is looking for a Supervisor - Production I for their Redford, MI location.
 
Responsibilities:
  • The main function of the Engine Assembly Supervisor – Midnight Shift is to supervise and coordinate the activities of production and operating workers.
  • Recommend measures to motivate employees and to improve production methods, equipment performance, product quality, or efficiency.
  • Review operations and confer with technical or administrative staff to resolve production or processing problems.
  • Develop and implement production tracking and quality control systems, analyzing production, quality control, and maintenance to detect production problems.
  • Hire, train, evaluate, and discharge staff, and resolve personal grievances.
  • Prepare and maintain production reports and personnel records.
 
Requirements:
  • Verbal communication skills, attention to detail, and problem solving skills.
  • Ability to work independently and manage one’s time.
  • Knowledge of raw materials, production processes, quality control and other techniques for maximizing the effective manufacture and distribution of goods.
  • Knowledge of machines and tools, including their designs, uses, repair and maintenance.
  • Knowledge of design techniques, tools and principles involved in production of precision technical plans, blueprints, drawings and models.
  • High school diploma or GED required. Bachelor's degree in business/engineering or related field preferred.
  • 0-2 years experience required, more is preferred.
  • If they don’t have supervisory experience but do have plant engine assembly or production type roles experience, they prefer 5 years of experience or more.
  • Verbal communication skills, attention to detail, and problem-solving skills.
  • Knowledge of machines and tools, including their designs, uses, repair and maintenance.
  • Knowledge of design techniques, tools and principals involved in production of precision technical plans, blueprints, drawings and models.
  • If they don’t have sup experience but do have plant preferred 5 years of experience
  • Use internal DTNA systems
  • Multiple supervisors per shift you will come in slightly early to collaborate with other supervisors from previous shift to get a hand over on what happened and what is upcoming You will be working with other supervisors on your shift to make sure you have people to run the line which will consist of the first hour of the day
  • Communicating with the team leads to gather information on any stations that are down. Work with maintenance and QA or supplier management to keep the line moving and efficient
  • Communicate effectively with a diverse group of individuals in a team of approximately 35
  • My team builds heavy-duty engines for commercial Client.
