Overview:

Position is for a Material Services Supervisor reporting to the Manager of Material Services. 

 

This individual will manage an hourly workforce responsible for system management of the Common Parts Catalog (CPC) and the creation and maintenance of Material Assembly Block Levels of Assembly (MABLSAs) within Teamcenter.  This includes the catalog’s integration with other EB systems such as Teamcenter, MRPII, and Oracle (ERP), and external entities such as BAE Systems, Newport News, or other General Dynamics Business Units.  The candidate will be responsible for any upgrades, enhancements, technical issues and help desk functionality with CPC and D447 modules of Oracle (ERP), and is required to interface with outside system providers.  The candidate will also be responsible for guiding processes of make-to-buy and buy-to-make procurement conversions, working with a variety of EB stakeholders.

 

Must be able to develop and execute plans for training newer employees, be familiar with various audit processes and be able to run reports in legacy systems (specifically, CDM where used reports).  The ability to successfully work with organizations outside the department is required. 

Qualifications:

Minimum Requirements:

  • High School Diploma
  • 4+ years of experience within a material services or related environment where ensuring task/project completion in satisfactory manner

  • Demonstrated leadership experience
  • Working knowledge of hourly/contract employee's practices
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office
  • Ability to read/interpret technical manuals, disclosures and drawings
  • Ability to write and maintain procedures

Preferred Requirements:

  • Bachelor Degree or equivalent experience in Material/Engineering/Planning/Supply Chain
  • 1+ years of supervisory experience responsible for direct reports
  • Working knowledge and experience with NX/Teamcenter and CDM/CATIA, SPARs, ELCADD and MRPII
  • Knowledge of Earned Value Management System (EVMS) for cost and schedule performance

  • Must be a self-motivated individual with a strong project management and systems management background. 
  • Strong problem solving capabilities and interpersonal skills are required as well as demonstrated leadership capabilities and the ability to interface with various levels of management, organizations, union membership and external entities.
