Description

Responsible for leading, designing and staffing the activity department. Manages the activity program and is responsible for planning, and leading various groups and programs which includes driving the facility van for outings. Educates staff on techniques to maintain appropriate environments for residents with dementia and supervise the receptionist. Plans and implements therapeutic events house wide. In addition to management responsibilities is able to perform all the duties and responsibilities of the activity staff as needed.

With panoramic views of Elliott Bay and the Olympic Mountains, Heritage House offer private apartments, nursing services and a rich quality of life to seniors in a vibrant urban environment.

Required Qualifications:

Associate's Degree Human Services Or equivalent educ/experience

2 years Experience in providing recreation in the human services field, preferably with the elderly and/or disabled

Valid driver's license

Preferred Qualifications:

Bachelor's Degree Recreation Therapy

Upon hire: Washington Recreational Therapist Registration Or

Upon hire: National Certified Therapeutic Recreation Specialist

Posted are the minimum and the maximum wage rates on the wage range for this position. The successful candidate's placement on the wage range for this position will be determined based upon relevant job experience and other applicable factors. These amounts are the base pay range; additional compensation may be available for this role, such as shift differentials, standby/on-call, overtime, premiums, extra shift incentives, or bonus opportunities.
