Superintendent

Position Overview
We are a growing small commercial contracting company seeking an experienced and hands-on Construction Superintendent to oversee day-to-day field operations. This role is responsible for managing job site activities, coordinating subcontractors, ensuring safety compliance, and delivering projects on time and within budget while maintaining high-quality standards.

Key Responsibilities
• Oversee all on-site construction activities from project start through completion
• Coordinate and supervise subcontractors, vendors, and field personnel
• Maintain project schedules and ensure timely completion of milestones
• Read and interpret plans, specifications, and construction documents
• Ensure work is performed in accordance with project plans, codes, and safety regulations
• Conduct regular site inspections to monitor quality, safety, and progress
• Proactively identify and resolve field issues or delays
• Communicate daily with project managers, clients, and stakeholders
• Maintain accurate daily reports, logs, and documentation
• Enforce company safety policies and OSHA compliance on all job sites
• Assist in project planning, sequencing, and logistics

Qualifications
• 5+ years of experience as a Superintendent in commercial construction
• Strong knowledge of construction methods, materials, and building systems
• Proven ability to manage multiple subcontractors and job site activities
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical documents
• Solid understanding of OSHA safety standards and best practices
• Strong leadership, problem-solving, and organizational skills
• Excellent communication skills (verbal and written)
• Proficiency with construction management software is a plus
• Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation

Preferred Experience
• Experience in small to mid-size commercial projects (e.g. office buildouts, restroom improvements, new buildings, pre-engineered metal buildings, site improvements)
• Familiarity with scheduling tools
• Basic computer skills (email, reporting, documentation)

Work Environment
• Primarily on active construction job sites
• May require occasional early mornings, evenings, or weekend work depending on project demands
• Local travel between job sites
