We are looking for a dedicated and experienced Permanent Superintendent to join our team in the construction industry. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in construction management, team leadership, and a proven track record of working with NAVFAC and/or Army Corps. This is a pivotal role that requires a strategic thinker with the ability to oversee all field activities, ensuring the proper performance of all subcontractors in the safety, quality, and timeliness of their work. You will be responsible for preparing and distributing all necessary project documents, maintaining a safe and efficient work environment, and ensuring compliance with all relevant regulations.
Responsibilities:
1. Oversee all field activities, ensuring the proper performance of all subcontractors in the safety, quality, and timeliness of their work.
2. Implement and maintain safety protocols, meeting the requirements of EM 385-1-1, and have experience in hazard identification and safety compliance: OSHA 30 and First Aid/CPR.
3. Prepare and distribute all necessary project documents including, but not limited to: daily reports, 3-week look ahead schedule, incident reports, safety inspection reports, permits, investigation reports, etc.
4. Coordinate with project managers, engineers, and other construction staff to ensure projects are completed on time and within budget.
5. Foster a positive work environment that encourages teamwork and collaboration.
Qualifications:
1. B.S. in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field position or equivalent combination of education and experience.
2. Minimum of 5+ years of experience in construction management, with a specific focus on leadership roles.
3. Proven experience working with NAVFAC and/or Army Corps.
4. Must meet the requirements of EM 385-1-1 and have experience in the areas of hazard identification and safety compliance: OSHA 30 and First Aid/CPR.
5. Excellent communication and leadership skills.
6. Must have a valid Driver's License, acceptable driving record, and be able to obtain access to military installations.
7. Strong problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.
8. Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and adapt to changing priorities.
9. Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and project management software.
