Job Details
The Superintendent is responsible for the overall direction of project and subcontractor personnel, including field operations and coordination. This role works closely with the Project Manager to drive project execution, maintain quality standards, enforce safety programs, and ensure schedule adherence from groundbreaking through project completion.
This is a hands-on leadership role requiring strong field presence, schedule management expertise, and a proactive safety mindset.
Responsibilities:
- Direct and coordinate all field personnel, subcontractors, suppliers, and trades on site to ensure smooth operations.
- Oversee daily field operations and ensure efficient workflow and trade sequencing.
- Collaborate with the Project Manager to align field execution with overall project objectives.
- Maintain and drive the project schedule on a daily basis, ensuring all tasks are completed on time and within budget.
- Adhere to and enforce all OSHA regulations and site safety requirements, promoting a culture of safety among all team members.
- Support and help maintain the project’s quality control program, ensuring all work meets or exceeds industry standards.
- Utilize strong communication and problem-solving skills to address any issues or conflicts that may arise, ensuring all team members feel supported and heard.
- Continually assess project progress, making necessary adjustments to keep the project on track and meeting all objectives.
Qualifications:
- A minimum of 5 years of experience in a construction superintendent role or similar position.
- Proven leadership ability managing subcontractors and field teams.
- Strong understanding of construction scheduling and sequencing.
- Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications.
- Working knowledge of OSHA regulations and site safety requirements.
- Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
- Demonstrated ability to direct and coordinate all field personnel, subcontractors, suppliers, and trades on site.
- Experience in overseeing daily field operations and ensuring efficient workflow and trade sequencing.
- Ability to collaborate effectively with project managers and other team members.
- Experience in maintaining and driving project schedules.
- Knowledge and experience in safety management and quality control within the construction industry.
