Position Overview:PRD's summer camp and preschool programs are looking for enthusiastic, creative, dynamic, and spirited individuals to join our summer team. Under general supervision, Recreation Aides will assist Recreation Leaders in facilitating a variety of recreational and sports activities across the City's summer camp offerings, including Camp Everything, PRD Funtopia, PRD Mini Campers, and Preschool Explorers.

If Selected:
- Upon acceptance, applicants will receive an email confirmation via Caselle Hire regarding next steps.
- Both staff training dates (TBD) are mandatory for new hires.
Onboarding:
- Completion of Online Onboarding via Hire Forms (automated email sent with login instructions)
- All employees must submit I-9 information and work permits (if applicable) in person.
- Employees 18+ must schedule fingerprinting with Cora Wood at cwood@piedmont.ca.gov.
In-Person Document Drop-Off Session Dates: (I-9 and Work Permit process takes approximately 5-10 minutes)
- Thurs–Fri, Mar 19–20
- Thurs–Fri, Apr 16–17 (Make-up dates)
Mandatory Summer Staff Training:
- New Hire Training: Sat, May 23, 9 AM–1 PM, Havens Schoolmates, 323 Highland Ave.
- CPR Training: TBD
- All Camp Training (New & Returning Staff): Sat, June 6, 10 AM–1 PM (location emailed after placement)
Ideal Candidates Are:
- Professional: Able to engage with both children and parents in a respectful and appropriate manner.
- Responsible: Prioritize safety and consistently follow through on tasks.
- Energetic & Enthusiastic: A team player who is always ready to contribute and have fun!
- Experienced: Previous experience working with children in a recreation or after-school setting is preferred.
Qualifications and Compensation:
- Must be currently enrolled in high school and at least 15 years old at the time of applying.
- Work permit required if under 18 years of age.
- Salary: $17 - $18 per hour
- Hours per week: 20-25 hours
