Who We Are:

Join the SwRI Internship Program and our Fitness Wellness team to help us meet our mission of benefiting humankind and serving the SwRI family by providing assistance with fitness facility operations, working on special projects, and even helping facilitate our intramural sports program.

Objectives of this Role:
  • Provide assistance with fitness facility operations.
  • Assist with recreation and intramural sports programs.
  • Assist with retail store functions.
  • Interact with the public and employees as a representative of SwRI. Handle special projects.
  • Local year-round student position.
Daily and Monthly Responsibilities:
  • Assist with various front desk operations - computer projects, store sales, inquiries.
  • Interact with members - checking form, assisting with fitness programming.
  • Help to develop and implement fitness incentive programs.
  • Assist with the evening recreation and intramural sports programs - set-up, officials, monitoring.
Requirements:
  • Must be pursuing a Bachelors degree in Kinesiology, Physical Education, Sports Science, Health Management, or related field.
  • CPR, First Aid, Microsoft Office experience preferred.
  • Shift work required.
  • 0 years: Coordination of recreation or intramural sports, Corporate/University fitness facility and programs, personal training, nutritional education and consultation.
  • Recreational facilities experience, knowledge of fitness programming and corporate wellness initiatives is required; group exercise certification and experience conducting classes and trainings is preferred.
  • A valid/clear driver's license is required.

  • Defense and & Intelligence Solutions-Providing advanced direction finding and tracking systems through geolocation system development.
  • Fuels and Lubricants Research-Performing fuels and lubricants research activities to meet regulatory and competitive goals.
  • Intelligent Systems-Providing engineering services in resaerch and development of complex systems and equipment.
  • Mechanical Engineering-Improving safety, reliability, efficiency and life of new or existing mechanical components or systems.
  • Powertrain Engineering-Designing and developing vehicle and engine components to achieve performance and emissions goals.
