Who We Are:

The Intelligent Systems Division develops automated solutions for commercial and government clients in multiple domains including transportation (traffic management, connected automated vehicle), manufacturing robotics, medical prognostics, and communication standards.

Objectives of this Role:
  • Serve in a junior software developer role on teams focused on delivering innovative solutions for traffic coordination, big data processing and analysis, computer vision, machine learning, and intelligent decision support systems.
  • Participate in advanced, internally funded, research and development programs. Bring your ideas to life as proof of concept, showing how technology can improve transportation.
  • Design and code, often for complex solutions, products that directly affect the lives and actions of the travelling public.
  • Save lives, reduce emissions, and make the roadways safer.
  • We bring together talented people from all backgrounds to help us deliver innovative software solutions in the transportation industry.
  • Intern on projects focused on improving transportation technology for all.
  • Fall student, local year-round student, co-op or Summer 2026 student position.
Daily and Monthly Responsibilities:
  • Assist in developing software solutions for intelligent system applications.
  • Participate in team meetings, code reviews, etc as part of an integrated software development team.
  • Provide quality research and code, contributing directly to the success of a project.
  • Leverage skills brought from university to provide new insights into coding paradigms, design patterns, etc.
Requirements:
  • Must be pursuing a Bachelors degree in Software Engineering, Computer Science or Computer Engineering.
  • 0 years: Familiarity with object oriented development in a language such as C#, C++, or Java.
  • Have additional abilities in other technologies such as SQL, Docker, WPF, ASP.NET, MVVM, MVC, or React.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication, interpersonal skills, and the ability to work well both individually and as a member of a project team.
  • At least two or more years of undergraduate education.
  • A valid/clear driver's license is required.
Special Requirements:

Applicant selected will be subject to a government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information. Applicant must be a U.S. citizen.

  • Defense and & Intelligence Solutions-Providing advanced direction finding and tracking systems through geolocation system development.
  • Fuels and Lubricants Research-Performing fuels and lubricants research activities to meet regulatory and competitive goals.
  • Intelligent Systems-Providing engineering services in resaerch and development of complex systems and equipment.
  • Mechanical Engineering-Improving safety, reliability, efficiency and life of new or existing mechanical components or systems.
  • Powertrain Engineering-Designing and developing vehicle and engine components to achieve performance and emissions goals.
