Summary:
Assist in developing, integrating, and documenting structural and interior payload system requirements to support system design.
Support validation and verification testing of systems and components against requirements and specifications.
Collaborate with suppliers to manage performance, testing, and production activities to optimize design and achieve program goals.
Support the IRC production floor during first-of-type or complex builds.
Assist in developing new design/analysis processes and tools to improve quality and efficiency.
Investigate emerging technologies to develop concepts for future product designs.
Develop, maintain, and modify payload system and component designs using 3D CAD tools.
Requirements:
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering from an accredited institution.
2+ years of related work experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience (Bachelor’s + 2 years; Master’s + 0 years).
2+ years of experience with 3D modeling tools (Autodesk Inventor, CATIA, SOLIDWORKS, SketchUp, Pro-E, 3DX, etc.).
Experience working in cross-functional engineering and production teams.
Must be a U.S. Citizen (as defined by ITAR).
Preferred Qualifications:
2+ years of experience in aerospace engineering, design, and engineering release processes.
Strong problem-solving and critical thinking skills.
Proficiency with MS Office Suite or standard business software.
Ability to meet plan delivery deadlines.
Understanding and experience with FAA Title 14 Part 25 and/or EASA equivalent.
