Structural Engineer

Our client is seeking a motivated Structural Engineer to join a collaborative engineering team focused on delivering high‑quality structural designs for a variety of building projects. This role involves working closely with architects, owners, contractors, and internal team members to develop structural systems, prepare construction documents, and support projects from early design through construction.

Requirements:

Structural Design & Analysis

• Develop structural systems and prepare design calculations, drawings, and specifications.
• Perform structural analysis and design for buildings using concrete, steel, timber, and other materials.
• Utilize structural engineering software (e.g., ETABS, SAP2000, RISA, RAM, STAAD) to model and analyze building structures.
• Ensure designs comply with applicable codes and standards (IBC, ASCE, ACI, AISC)

Project Coordination

• Manage project scope, schedule, and budget for assigned tasks.
• Participate in internal kickoff meetings and external coordination meetings.
• Communicate design decisions, technical issues, and scope changes to project leadership.
• Collaborate with architects, contractors, and internal engineering staff to align on project goals and deliverables.

Documentation & Quality Assurance

• Prepare and maintain accurate project documentation, including calculations, drawings, specifications, and reports.
• Review internal design documents for accuracy, completeness, and compliance with project requirements.
• Coordinate internal quality reviews and ensure interdisciplinary alignment across project deliverables.

Construction Support

• Review shop drawings, submittals, and special inspection reports.
• Address field issues and collaborate with construction partners to ensure proper implementation of design intent.
• Provide timely responses to construction‑related inquiries to support project progress.

Team & Client Engagement

• Provide guidance to less experienced engineers and BIM modelers.
• Support project managers in aligning engineering tasks with project priorities.
• Interpret project proposals to understand scope, schedule, and budget expectations.
• Contribute to maintaining strong client relationships through clear communication and reliable delivery.

Qualifications/Must-Haves:

• EIT or PE licensure (or progress toward licensure)
• Familiarity with U.S. building codes and construction practices.
• Ability to coordinate with architects, contractors, and BIM teams.
• Experience reviewing shop drawings and supporting construction activities.
• Strong understanding of structural codes and standards (IBC, ASCE, ACI, AISC)
• 3+ years of experience performing structural analysis and building design using concrete, steel, and timber.
• Proficiency with structural engineering software such as ETABS, SAP2000, STAAD, RISA, or RAM.
• Bachelor's degree in Civil or Structural Engineering (or equivalent experience)
• Experience preparing or reviewing structural drawings, calculations, and specifications.
• 2+ years of experience mentoring junior engineers or coordinating small project teams.
