Location: Charlotte, NC (Hybrid)

Introduction

The role involves working in the midst of a dynamic data center environment, focusing on the transformation and modernization of infrastructure and storage systems. The successful candidate will be part of a team tasked with moving data and shifting workloads at the block level.

Required Skills & Qualifications

  • Applicants must be able to work directly for the company on a W2 basis.
  • Experience with enterprise storage platforms such as EMC/Isilon, NetApp, Hitachi Vantara, or Pure Storage.
  • Strong understanding of SAN/NAS architecture, protocols (FC, iSCSI, NFS, SMB), and storage networking concepts.
  • Familiarity with backup/recovery tools and strategies such as Veritas NetBackup, Commvault, or Veeam.
  • Scripting or automation experience (e.g., PowerShell, Python, Ansible) is preferred.
  • Experience with performance tuning, capacity planning, and monitoring tools.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work collaboratively across technical teams.
  • Knowledge of regulatory requirements related to data storage and security in financial services.

Preferred Skills & Qualifications

  • Experience with storage in virtualized or cloud environments such as AWS or Azure.
  • Certifications such as NetApp NCIE, EMC Proven Professional, or related credentials.
  • Prior experience in financial services or highly regulated environments.

Day-to-Day Responsibilities

  • Design, deploy, and maintain enterprise storage solutions (SAN, NAS, object storage) to meet performance, capacity, and availability requirements.
  • Monitor storage systems, troubleshoot issues, and perform root-cause analysis for storage-related incidents.
  • Implement backup, recovery, and disaster recovery strategies in line with business continuity requirements.
  • Collaborate with application, database, and infrastructure teams to optimize storage performance and availability.
  • Perform storage provisioning, capacity planning, and lifecycle management.
  • Maintain compliance with internal policies and regulatory requirements.
  • Document storage configurations, procedures, and operational standards.
  • Participate in projects involving storage upgrades, migrations, and integrations with virtualization or cloud platforms.
