Job Title: Sterile Processing Technician (SPT)
Location: Cortlandt Manor, NY
Pay Rate: $30 – $34 per hour
Schedule: Day Shift | Monday–Friday | 7:00 AM – 3:00 PM (Rotating On-Call Required)
Weekly Hours: 40 Hours
Job Type: Contract

Position Overview

"Navitas Healthcare, LLC" is seeking a detail-oriented Sterile Processing Technician (SPT) to support a fast-paced healthcare environment. This role is essential in ensuring all surgical instruments and medical equipment are properly cleaned, sterilized, and prepared in accordance with strict safety and infection control standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Decontaminate, clean, and sterilize surgical instruments and equipment
• Inspect instruments for cleanliness, damage, and functionality
• Assemble, wrap, and package instrument trays per established guidelines
• Maintain accurate sterilization and tracking records
• Ensure compliance with infection control and safety protocols
• Manage inventory of sterile supplies and equipment
• Support operating room teams with timely instrument availability
• Perform routine equipment checks and report any issues
• Maintain an organized and efficient workflow within the department
• Participate in ongoing training and continuing education

Required Qualifications

Education & Certification:

• High School Diploma or equivalent required
• CSP Certification (IAHCSMM) preferred
• Must meet New York State Central Services requirements if not certified
• Minimum of 10 continuing education credits annually

Experience:

• Minimum 2 years of sterile processing or instrument handling experience preferred
• Experience with decontamination, sterilization, and tray assembly

Preferred Qualifications

• Instrument Certification
• Strong understanding of sterilization standards and infection control practices
• Prior experience in a hospital-based sterile processing department
