Job Title: Staff RN – Emergency Department (Nights)
Job Location: Lancaster, OH
Working Hours: 7:00 PM – 7:30 AM
Department: Emergency Department
 
Position Summary
The Staff RN in the Emergency Department is responsible for assessing, planning, implementing, evaluating, and coordinating patient care using the nursing process. This role requires strong critical thinking, effective communication, and the ability to respond quickly in a fast-paced emergency setting. The RN will collaborate with physicians and interdisciplinary teams, supervise support staff, and ensure safe, high-quality patient care in accordance with Fairfield Medical Center policies and procedures.
 
Key Responsibilities

• Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate individualized patient care using the nursing process.
• Provide safe, accurate administration of medications and treatments as ordered.
• Document all assessments, interventions, and patient responses clearly and accurately.
• Notify providers of significant changes in patient condition and carry out written orders promptly.
• Educate patients and families throughout the emergency care process and at discharge.
• Maintain equipment and ensure required supplies are available; report malfunctions as needed.
• Support a safe, clean care environment and uphold all facility policies, compliance expectations, and service standards.

• Associate Degree in Nursing required; Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing preferred.
• Active Ohio RN license (must be current at start).
• Minimum of 3 years of recent Emergency Department experience.
• Current certifications: BLS, ACLS, and PALS.
• Strong clinical judgment, critical thinking, and ability to manage multiple priorities.
• Excellent communication, teamwork, and problem-solving abilities.
• Ability to work independently, make sound decisions, and provide compassionate, patient-centered care.
