The Staff Accountant is responsible for supporting all aspects of accounting operations, by performing daily and monthly accounting activities and ensuring compliance with GAAP and SEC reporting requirements.

Job Details

Essential Functions

  • General Ledger Management: Prepare and post journal entries, reconcile accounts, and maintain accurate financial records.
  • Month-End Close: Assist with monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes, including preparation of supporting schedules.
  • Compliance & Controls: Ensure adherence to SOX internal controls and company policies; assist with external audits.
  • Accounts Analysis: Perform variance analysis and provide explanations for fluctuations in financial results.
  • Cross-Functional Support: Collaborate with Operations, Sales, Accounts - Payable, Accounts Receivable, and other departments to ensure accurate financial data.
  • Process Improvement: Identify opportunities to streamline accounting processes and enhance efficiency.
  • Answer accounting and financial questions by researching and interpreting data
  • Assist with other critical projects as needed

Required education and experience

  • Minimum of 3 years relevant accrual-based accounting experience.
  • Must be authorized to work lawfully in the United States, must provide two forms of Federal Identification.
  • Candidates must successfully complete a comprehensive background check prior to employment.
  • This includes verification of previous employment, education, criminal history, and any other relevant information necessary to determine the suitability for the position.
