Position Overview:

The Staff Accountant role is responsible for supporting accounting operations, performing account reconciliations, and assisting in monthly closings. This role focuses on developing core accounting skills, learning systems, and supporting more senior team members in the completion of financial reports and audits.

Pay Range: Starting from USD $70,000.00/Yr. Responsibilities:

 

  • Assist in the preparation of journal entries and account reconciliations for assigned accounts under the direction of senior team members.
  • Support the monthly close process by gathering data, performing basic reconciliations, and preparing standard reports.
  • Maintain accurate records of accounting transactions, including general ledger entries and supporting documentation.
  • Prepare and compile financial reports and schedules for internal use and audit support.
  • Contribute to the preparation of audit files and assist with gathering documentation for internal and external auditors.
  • Participate in cross-functional meetings to learn accounting processes and timelines, ensuring timely communication of data needs or issues.
  • Support the implementation of accounting policies and procedures, applying general knowledge of GAAP and internal controls.
  • Assist with intercompany transaction tracking, accruals, and basic reconciliations.
  • Participate in special projects or process improvement efforts under the guidance of more experienced accountants.
  • Maintain data integrity and confidentiality while developing familiarity with accounting systems and tools.

 

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field required.
  • 1+ years of relevant accounting experience, such as internships or early career roles.
  • Foundational knowledge of accounting principles (GAAP), with exposure to core processes such as journal entries, accounts payable/receivable, and reconciliations.
  • Basic familiarity with accounting systems, ERP platforms, and Microsoft Office.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills, with a commitment to data accuracy and integrity.
  • Ability to learn quickly, follow instructions, and collaborate effectively in a team environment.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • CPA eligibility or progress toward CPA certification preferred but not required.
Travel Requirements:

This position does not require regular travel as part of its primary responsibilities. However, occasional travel may be required, up to 10%, primarily for occasional off-site meetings, training sessions, or company events. Travel, when necessary, will be communicated in advance and aligned with business needs.

Physical Demands & Work Environment:
  • This position primarily operates in a professional office environment, requiring the ability to work at a desk for extended periods while using a computer, phone, and standard office equipment.
  • The position involves sitting for extended periods, performing data entry, and engaging in frequent communication via email, phone, and in-person interactions.
  • The role involves regular communication with team members, clients, and stakeholders, both in person and through virtual platforms.
  • The physical demands of the job may include occasional standing, walking, bending, and lifting of office materials up to 15 pounds.
