Key Responsibilities of the Staff Accountant

• Prepare and reconcile monthly financial statements for a primary business unit as the Staff Accountant

• Perform detailed general ledger review, account analysis, and financial reporting in the Staff Accountant role

• Prepare and post journal entries and complete monthly reconciliations as a Staff Accountant

• Conduct daily reviews to ensure accuracy and completeness of financial data as the Staff Accountant

• Reconcile payroll tax withholdings, property taxes, sales & use taxes, and income tax-related schedules

• Support federal and state tax reporting, including apportionment schedules, in the Staff Accountant position

• Calculate and process business tax payments according to established schedules

• Generate and review 1099 filings for vendors

• Perform detailed audits of expense reports and payment records

• Assist with budget preparation, fixed asset reporting, and project cost tracking

• Support special projects and ad hoc accounting initiatives as a Staff Accountant

Preferred Qualifications for the Staff Accountant

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance

• Minimum 1+ year of corporate accounting experience in a Staff Accountant or similar role

• Solid understanding of GAAP and general ledger accounting

• Intermediate Excel skills (pivot tables, VLOOKUPs, formulas)

• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

• Demonstrated sound judgment and attention to detail appropriate for a Staff Accountant
