Salary/Hourly Rate:
$30/hr - $45/hr
Position Overview:
The Staff Accountant will play a key role in supporting the day-to-day accounting operations, including journal entries, reconciliations, and financial reporting. This position requires strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and a solid understanding of accounting principles. The ideal candidate is proactive, organized, and eager to contribute to a high-performing finance team.
Responsibilities of the Staff Accountant:
- Prepare and post journal entries and maintain general ledger accounts.
- Assist with month-end and year-end close processes.
- Reconcile bank statements and other balance sheet accounts.
- Support accounts payable and accounts receivable functions as needed.
- Assist in preparing financial statements and internal reports.
- Maintain fixed asset records and depreciation schedules.
- Ensure compliance with GAAP and internal accounting policies.
- Collaborate with external auditors and provide necessary documentation.
- Participate in process improvement initiatives and special projects.
- 2+ years of accounting experience, preferably in a corporate or public accounting environment.
- Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, NetSuite, SAP, Oracle).
- Strong Excel skills and familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite.
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Ability to work independently and meet deadlines.
- Strong communication and problem-solving abilities.
- Knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting standards.
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
- CPA or CPA eligibility is a plus.
