They are seeking a Staff Accountant who can support daily accounting activities, assist with month-end close, and contribute to financial analysis in a complex production environment.
Position Summary for Staff Accountant
The Staff Accountant will play a key role in supporting general ledger maintenance, preparing financial reports, and ensuring accounting accuracy across multiple manufacturing cost centers. This person will work cross‑functionally with operations, purchasing, and AP/AR teams to maintain accurate costing, inventory valuation, and compliance with GAAP. The role is ideal for someone detail-oriented, analytical, and comfortable in a dynamic, hands-on environment.
Key Responsibilities for Staff Accountant
- Prepare journal entries, account reconciliations, and assist with month-end and year-end close.
- Maintain and monitor general ledger accounts for accuracy and completeness.
- Support inventory accounting, including cycle count analysis, inventory valuation, and variance tracking.
- Assist in cost accounting activities such as BOM review, standard cost updates, and manufacturing variance analysis.
- Reconcile bank accounts and support cash flow reporting.
- Prepare and analyze financial statements, reports, and supporting schedules.
- Assist with AP/AR review and support cross-departmental financial processes.
- Support annual audit by preparing schedules and providing documentation.
- Identify and recommend process improvements to enhance workflow and accuracy.
- Maintain compliance with internal controls and GAAP standards.
Qualifications for Staff Accountant
Required:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
- 2–4 years of accounting experience, preferably in a manufacturing environment.
- Working knowledge of GAAP.
- Experience with ERP systems (SAP, Epicor, Oracle, Infor, or similar).
- Strong Excel skills (pivot tables, VLOOKUP, advanced formulas).
- Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail.
Preferred:
- Experience with cost accounting or manufacturing variance analysis.
- Experience supporting month-end close in a multi-entity or multi-location environment.
- Pursuit of CPA or CMA certification is a plus.
