Staff Accountant (Full Time – Hybrid)
Location: Aurora, IL
Schedule: Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM–5:00 PM (1‑hour lunch)
We are seeking a detail‑oriented Staff Accountant to support daily accounting operations and sales tax filing for a growing organization. This is a full‑time, hybrid role, requiring employees to be in the office on Tuesdays and one additional day each week.
Key Responsibilities of the Staff Accountant:
- Prepare and file sales tax returns across multiple states (average ~50 returns monthly).
- Perform hands‑on accounting functions, including reconciliations and general ledger work.
- Utilize Excel for reporting and analysis (VLOOKUPs, pivot tables, formulas).
- Support month‑end processes and various accounting projects as needed.
Requirements for the Staff Accountant:
- 5–8 years of staff accounting experience.
- Experience with sales tax filing; Avalara experience is a plus.
- NetSuite experience preferred.
- Strong Excel skills.
- Ability to work independently and ask questions when needed.
- Must be comfortable in a dog‑friendly office environment.
