Due to continued growth, they are adding a Staff Accountant to their team to support full-cycle bookkeeping, payroll activity review, and tax preparation work.

About the Staff Accountant Role

The Staff Accountant will manage a portfolio of clients and ensure that each client’s books and records are accurate, complete, and ready for tax preparation. This position requires recent, hands-on accounting experience and strong QuickBooks Desktop and Online proficiency.

Primary Responsibilities

• Prepare books and records for tax preparation for small business clients
• Review and manage payroll setup, payroll entries, and payroll accuracy
• Maintain accurate general ledger activity using QuickBooks Online and established checklists
• Identify discrepancies in client financials and resolve accounting issues
• Utilize spreadsheets and AI-supported tools
• Adhere to structured workflows to ensure consistency across clients

Time Allocation

• 70%: Bookkeeping and general ledger work
• 20%: Payroll review and entries
• 10%: Client support and checklist-driven work

Required Qualifications

• Current, hands-on bookkeeping or staff accounting experience
• Strong QuickBooks Online proficiency
• Solid understanding of debits, credits, and accounting fundamentals
• Ability to follow processes and checklists consistently
• Strong attention to detail and reliability
