Role Summary
The Staff Accountant will handle core general ledger activities and support the month-end close process to ensure accurate and timely financial reporting. This role is ideal for early-career accountants who have experience preparing reconciliations, posting journal entries, and maintaining balance sheet schedules.
You will work closely with senior team members to support fixed assets, account analysis, and reporting activities, while developing the skills needed for long-term advancement.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and post general ledger journal entries for month-end close cycles
- Complete balance sheet reconciliations and research resolving items
- Support the preparation of financial statements and internal reporting
- Assist with fixed asset tracking, additions, disposals, and depreciation schedules
- Analyze account fluctuations and provide explanations to management
- Assist with internal and external audit requests
- Maintain organized, accurate documentation to support financial controls
- Partner with cross-functional teams to resolve discrepancies and improve processes
Key Requirements
- One to two years of corporate accounting experience including full-cycle general ledger work
- Strong reconciliation experience with proven accuracy
- Proficient in Excel including pivot tables and VLOOKUP
- Familiarity with fixed assets and depreciation preferred
- Experience with Microsoft Dynamics 365 or other ERP systems a plus
- Strong attention to detail, analytical thinking, and organizational skills
- Excellent communication skills and ability to collaborate with team members
- Driven, eager to learn, and comfortable in a fast-paced environment
