About the Staff Accountant Role
The Staff Accountant will join a collaborative accounting team and report to the Assistant Controller. Responsibilities of the Staff Accountant
The Staff Accountant will:
- Perform a high volume of complex reconciliations, including bank, account, vendor, general ledger, and reconciliations related to interest, principal, and payoffs.
- Track millions of dollars in debt across multiple bank accounts to ensure equipment payments are timely and accurate in preparation for bank audits.
- Support inventory tracking, including physical inventory counts, cost‑per‑unit calculations, and remaining balance analysis for equipment.
- Assist with month‑end close activities, intercompany transactions, allocations, and journal entries across multiple entities.
- Support cost allocations, contribute to process improvements and automation efforts, and collaborate with managers to take on new responsibilities as the role progresses.
Minimum Qualifications for the Staff Accountant
The Staff Accountant should have:
- A minimum of 3 years of accounting experience; a bachelor’s degree in Accounting or a related field is preferred.
- Strong Excel proficiency, including VLOOKUPs, Pivot Tables, and Index/Match.
- Experience with Microsoft Dynamics or a similar ERP system (preferred).
