Responsible for coordination of shift operations and public safety personnel. Coordinates officer activities to ensure a safe and tranquil environment. This position holds the rank of Sergeant, and is above Security Officers and below Lieutenant.

Responsibilities

Scheduling and Shift Supervision:

Reviews all shift reports and statistics. Performs all job responsibilities of an officer, and other department members when necessary.

Public Safety Response and General Security/Policing:

Coordinates response to emergency situations, investigations, and criminal activity occurring on his/her shift

Staff Development:

Ensures staff understanding and compliance with department and organizational policies and procedures.

Selection and Placement:

Participates in interviews and selection of department associates.

Department Administration:

Assist with formulation and/or revisions of policies and procedures.

Parking Enforcement:

Responsible for accounting, enforcement, and regulation of parking operations.

Internal Engagement:

Works with other departments on his/her shift to coordinate appropriate safety, security and parking services

Qualifications

Minimum Required - High School Diploma or GED. Preferred Degree - Bachelors Degree in Criminal Justice.

The Ohio Peace Office Training Academy (OPOTA) certification as a Police Officer is preferred.

Minimum Required: 2 years experience as an FTO or Senior Police/Security Officer. Preferred 3 - 5 Years experience as an FTO or Senior Police/Security Officer. Current FTO for 6 months or more is strongly preferred.
