Summary
The Senior Project Engineer is responsible for directing, coordinating, and exercising functional authority over the planning, organization, control, integration, and completion of engineering projects within their area of responsibility.
- Plan and formulate engineering programs; organize project staff according to project requirements.
- Assign project personnel to phases and aspects of projects such as technical studies, product design, preparation of specifications, technical plans, and product testing.
- Review product designs to ensure compliance with engineering principles, company standards, customer contract requirements, and applicable specifications.
- Coordinate activities related to technical developments, project scheduling, and resolution of design or testing issues.
- Direct the integration of technical activities and products.
- Evaluate and approve design changes, specifications, and drawing releases.
- Control expenditures within the established project budget.
- Prepare interim and final project reports.
- Determine customer application needs and develop feasible product designs to meet requirements.
- Prepare sketches, designs, calculations, and detailed layouts to define new or revised products.
- Participate in the evaluation of designs, products, performance, manufacturability, and costs.
- Provide recommendations and technical support to potential and existing customers.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering or Physics (Mechanical Engineering preferred).
- 10+ years of engineering experience, including supervisory or leadership roles.
- Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills; ability to think both strategically and tactically.
- Experience with CAD software, engineering analysis tools, and project management systems.
- Knowledge of industry standards (e.g., ISO, ASME, ASTM) and regulatory compliance requirements.
- Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills with the ability to collaborate effectively at all organizational levels.
