Sr. Middleware Support Engineer (ACE American Insurance Company (Chubb)) (Philadelphia, PA) : Overseeing Chubb’s Middleware platforms, providing support, assisting with deployment and performing operational processes; Ensuring platform stability, spotting issues before they arise and developing, proposing, and implementing remedies; Coordinating with teams to identify business needs and define specific technical objectives; Documenting middleware build specifications, including diagrams and scripts, and identifying appropriate middleware patterns for meeting technical requirements; Managing software patching processes and creating golden images to ensure effective deployment; Leading Agile teams responsible for implementation projects, including setting and prioritizing goals and managing applications and groups; Conducting intensive problem solving within systems overseen. Must have experience with the following in order to complete the above-mentioned tasks: Bash scripting, PowerShell, Python, Ansible, Terraform, Active Directory, DBMS (i.e. SQL Server, Postgres, MySQL, DB2, Oracle), Jenkins, Jira, CI/CD, BitBucket, Git version control, and JSON; Experience administering middleware products including WebSphere, Weblogic, Tomcat, Apache WebServer, IHS WebServer, IIS WebServer; Experience supporting Linux platforms; Experience managing Windows systems; Experience debugging cross-system problems, documenting root causes and performing detection, remediation and avoidance; Experience with Tivoli, SCOM, Netcool, Splunk, Grafana Suite, or ScienceLogic; Experience with cloud, virtualization, and APIs technologies; Experience with agile and lean philosophies; Experience with process improvement, workflow, and benchmarking or evaluation of business processes; Experience with ECM products like FileNet Content Manager, IBM Content Navigator, Content Collector, Datacap; and Experience enabling SSO using Ping federated, Kerbos, and CA Site minder. Requires a Bachelor’s degree or foreign equivalent in Information Technology, Computer Science or related field and at least five (5) years of experience as a Middleware Support Engineer or related occupation.
