Sr. Mechanical Engineer

Company designs and delivers advanced power and energy solutions for industrial, data center, oil & gas, and grid-scale applications. Our work includes containerized Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS), power distribution skids, and integrated mechanical, electrical, and controls solutions. We are focused on practical, buildable designs that perform in real-world environments.

Position Overview

We are seeking a skilled professional to support the mechanical design and development of containerized battery energy storage systems. This role will focus on system-level mechanical design, thermal management, structural layouts, and integration of HVAC and cooling systems within BESS enclosures.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and execute mechanical designs for containerized BESS solutions
• Develop mechanical layouts including battery racks, enclosures, HVAC systems, ducting, airflow paths, and service access
• Design and review thermal management and cooling strategies for high-power energy systems
• Generate detailed 3D models, drawings, and BOMs using CAD tools (e.g., SolidWorks)
• Collaborate closely with electrical, controls, and manufacturing teams to ensure system integration
• Support prototype builds, testing, and field feedback incorporation
• Ensure designs meet applicable codes, standards, and best practices (industrial, electrical, fire, and safety considerations)
• Assist with design standardization and continuous improvement initiatives
• Provide technical support during manufacturing, commissioning, and deployment as needed

Preferred Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field
• 7 years of professional mechanical engineering experience
• Strong experience with mechanical system design for industrial or containerized equipment
• Proficiency with 3D CAD software (SolidWorks or similar)
• Experience producing fabrication-ready drawings and documentation
• Ability to work onsite and collaborate cross-functionally
• Strong problem-solving and communication skills

Additional Qualifications (Valued, Not Required)

• Experience with cooling systems, HVAC, or thermal management
• Background in energy storage, power generation, data centers, or industrial equipment
• Familiarity with containerized systems or modular equipment design
• Exposure to BESS, power electronics enclosures, or high-heat-density systems
• Understanding of environmental considerations (temperature extremes, airflow, corrosion, vibration)
