ApTask Global Workforce (AGW) is seeking a Sr. Manufacturing Equipment Maintenance Technician for a6+ month contract position with a biotechnology company. This is an on-site position located in Greenville, NC.
 
Summary:
As part of our client's team, the Greenville, North Carolina site is a multi-purpose pharmaceutical development, manufacturing, and packaging campus. The operation specializes in taking both sterile injectable and oral solid dose drug products from development phase through to commercialization. This role requires working rotational shifts including days, nights, weekends, and holidays. A 15% shift differential is provided for night shifts.
 
Responsibilities:
  • Operate and maintain boiler systems, and all related physical plant equipment, including condenser water (cooling tower) and air compressors, air dryers, Potable water and chilled water systems, per SOPs, cGMPs, and user department requirements.
  • Operate and maintain High Purity Water systems, including WFI, PFW, generated by Ros and Distillation units.
  • Monitor performance through computer controls and reviewing recorded operating data. Resolve issues to ensure continuous operations and communicate status, including failures/corrective actions and readiness to management.
  • Maintain housekeeping services in utilities areas and communicate concerns.
Requirements:
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Minimum of 2 years of work experience in plant equipment operation including boiler operations, air compressors, or related field.
  • Minimum of 1-2 years of experience with Field Service or In-House Service.
  • Robotic experience is required.
  • Experience with handling hazardous materials and hazardous waste.
  • Experience with Pneumatic instruments and Vacuum systems.
  • Experience with general handheld tools plus multi-meters and other electronic test equipment.
  • Skilled in problem analysis, planning and organization.
  • Strong attention to detail, oral and written communication skills.
  • Proficient in the use of highly technical diagnostic and test equipment.
  • Ability to read and comprehend blueprints, manuals and training materials.
  • General trades' knowledge (i.e., HVAC, electrical, mechanical tasks, etc.).
  • Ability to work in mechanical spaces which may not be climate controlled and perform outside work at times.
  • Must be able to wear gowning which includes gloves, hair & beard net and face cover, and safety glasses.
  • Ability to lift and manipulate up to 35 pounds.
  • Position requires ability to stand, walk, stoop, kneel, crouch periodically for prolonged periods of time, and climb ladders to work at heights.
  • Only candidates available and ready to work directly as ApTask Global Workforce (AGW) employees will be considered for this position.
Desired skills:
  • Associate's degree in applied science in a related field.
  • Experience in a cGMP environment.
  • Experience with DNA/RNA Synthesizers is highly desirable (Example models: ABI 3900, 394, BioAutomation Mermade, Dr Oligo).
  • Robotic experience with any of the following platforms is highly desirable: Hamilton Star and Starlet, Agilent Bravo, Tecan Evo and Genesis and Biomek FX and NX.
  • Experience with manual pipetting.
  • Experience with FDA regulated system development/design control is a plus
Pay range: up to $29.00 per hour
